This is the long-awaited debut album from one of the original Chocolate City Funkateers, UNKL FNKY!
"Only someone who actually saw live performances of Bootsy Collin playin with James Brown, The Queen of Funk, Betty Davis, and Parliament Funkadelic’s historic landing of the Mothership could produce an album of this here magnitude." - Unkl Fnky
Electroafrohomodelic is Fire in Full Retrograde!
Oh Yes, We Gone Back to the Future!
An Uncut Funk-Filled, Trippy-ass Excursion!
Fasten Your Seatbelts, it's Gone be a Skunky night. Pee-You!
"Funk used to be a bad word!" - George Clinton
And in my African-American, Pentecostal, Holy Roller, Speaking-In-Tonges household, the utterance of any of the three "F words" would guarantee you a leather belt ass whoopin, with a side order of whelps, pro bono.
To avoid accusations of sacrilege, depravity, or devil worship, my Parliament-Funkadelic album covers were hidden under my bed in an old suitcase. Pedro Bell's visionary worlds kept company with Jobriath, David Bowie, Ohio Players, Betty Davis, Roxy Music, and Santana's Abraxas album cover.
I remember when Funkadelic was considered underground music and commonly thought of as "sinful" and "the devil's music." George Clinton's naked stage antics and liner notes by the infamous cult The Process Church of The Final Judgement didn't help to dispel such notions. But, with each album release, their irresistible funky grooves, whimsical wordplay, otherwordly presentations, and virtuoso musicianship, they established themselves as one of the most beloved and creative bands in music history!
I've bought every P-Funk album since their first. I've seen every tour since 1973's Cosmic Slop. Electroafrohomodelic is not simply dedicated to Parliament-Funkadelic. It bears witness to my journey into their funky abyss, which does more than look back. It consumes., fumes and blooms!
